What is an Employment Letter?
The Employment Letter (LOE) is a document that confirms your hiring, the assigned ship, and the position. It is necessary to carry it during the journey to join the ship.
Where is the Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) conducted?
The PEME is mandatory and must be performed at a center approved by Royal Caribbean Group. Typically, employees cover the cost. This examination is valid for two years and authorizes your travel to the ship.
Is there medical care on board?
Yes, each ship has a medical team available to handle any emergencies at no cost. However, it does not replace a regular doctor, so it is essential to arrive in good health.
What are my safety responsibilities?
All crew members receive training for emergencies and participate in regular drills, with specific emergency tasks assigned to them.
What are the requirements to work on board?
You must have a valid passport, a C1-D visa (except for Canadian and U.S. citizens/residents), pass the PEME, and meet other requirements such as vaccinations and certifications based on the position.
What is the C1-D visa?
It is a non-immigrant U.S. visa that allows transit in U.S. ports. Royal Caribbean provides a support letter for applying for it, except for Canadian and U.S. citizens or residents.
