Requirements to work at Starboard


We are looking for candidates with characteristics such as:

  • Charismatic, sociable, energetic, independent, self-motivated, adventurous, assertive, proactive, and quick learners.
  • You must be at least 21 years old.
  • 2 years of experience in sales and/or customer service.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Preferably multilingual skills for certain ships.

Hiring conditions for Starboard

  • You will sign a contract with Starboard.
  • The contract extension is for 6 months.
  • You will earn between $1,000 and $1,200, including a base salary plus commission.
  • You must pay for your airfare to embark and for the medical examinations.
  • The company will reimburse you for Visa expenses.
  • You will need to attend a presentation that is part of the pre-selection process where you will participate in role-plays.
  • Those assigned will need to complete courses and obtain STCW95 certification. This cost is the candidate’s responsibility.
  • If approved, your embarkation will be within the next 3 to 4 months from the moment you have all the necessary documents to embark.

Application: Complete the form and resume in English in detail. Include your full name as it appears on your passport, your most recent work experiences with dates and responsibilities. Apply for only one position and verify the requirements of the available vacancies.
Interview: If you meet the profile, you will be contacted for an interview in English. You may be evaluated for different vacancies. Some positions require a second interview with the cruise company.
Pre-embarkation: Once approved, you will receive the job offer and hiring conditions. You will need to complete documentation and certifications such as visas and medical examinations.
Embarkation: You will be assigned an embarkation date and receive details about flights, emergency contacts, and everything you need for your trip.
