Activity Manager

Responsible for leading the onboard activity and entertainment team, ensuring a safe, fun and consistently elevated guest experience aligned with brand standards. Works alongside the Cruise Director to plan and deliver the activity program.

Mandatory requirements

  • Solid grasp of guest experience principles and hospitality operations.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for organizing engaging, high-quality activity programs for guests of all ages and abilities.
  • Proven leadership ability to oversee large, diverse and multicultural teams.
  • Confident, charismatic and natural stage presence, able to entertain and engage an audience.
  • A complete, clear and concise CV.
  • A short presentation video authentically showcasing personality, communication and public-speaking skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate Activity Staff, DJ and other entertainment teammates, ensuring consistent product delivery to brand standards.
  • Host and emcee activity events and programs in alignment with the Cruise Director, covering for them when absent.
  • Champion the Service Excellence philosophy and First Contact Resolution; log service recovery interactions and Guest Experience Moments (GEMS) in the relevant platform.
  • Optimize guest flow across activity and recreation venues, adjusting operations to improve efficiency and experience.
  • Ensure venues operate safely and in good working order: audit and inspect facilities, maintain compliance with internal and external regulations, and raise service orders for damaged equipment.
  • Keep organized safety and maintenance records and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Train the team, run meetings and weekly training sessions, and ensure staff understand protocols and role descriptions.
  • Support direct reports’ development through feedback, growth goals and thorough journal notes, identifying top performers.
  • Comply with company HESS-MS regulations and perform emergency duties per the ship’s Emergency Response Plan.

Upon completing the previous stage, you will be directed to the embarkation department, entered into the system of each cruise company, and will start the necessary documentation process (visas, medical exams, criminal records, and other certifications or documents as required by each company).

You will be awaiting an embarkation date which will occur within 3 to 5 months after completing the aforementioned documentation.

In the event that you decide not to proceed with the process, the vacancy will be offered to another candidate, and if you wish to resume later on, you will need to start the process from the beginning.
